Social Cognition and Meta-Learning for Human–AI Collaboration
Job Number: P24INT-52
Honda Research Institute USA (HRI-US) is seeking a research intern to explore the algorithmic modeling of human behavior in the context of meta-learning for human–AI teaming. This internship focuses on enabling AI agents to develop theory of mind–like capabilities—inferring human intentions, roles, and strategies from limited interactions—and leveraging these insights to adapt rapidly in ad-hoc collaborative settings. The project emphasizes computational models of social reasoning and behavioral inference, to ground meta-learning frameworks that allow agents to self-adjust and align with evolving team dynamics.
