Teleoperation often demands expert-level focus and precision. Our research team is reducing that barrier. Honda’s supported teleoperation system integrates shared autonomy, enabling an operator – even a novice – to manipulate objects fluidly through prediction.
Unlike systems that only infer the next motion, our model predicts the operator’s final goal. It anticipates the completed structure the user intends to build. This lets operators work naturally while the system intelligently translates movement based on the end goal, in addition to moment-by-moment corrective translation.
The result is a more intuitive, accessible teleoperation experience. It’s one that expands who can meaningfully contribute to advanced remote manipulation tasks.
