Honda Research Institute USA (HRI-US) is seeking a research engineer to develop and implement a novel planning framework. This position requires understanding state-of-the-art planning algorithms and improving their performance under heavy noise and occlusions.
Mountain View, CA

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Research existing state-of-the-art algorithms for robust planning under occlusion.
  • Develop a real-time motion planner that can safely and smoothly operate under heavy noise and occlusion.
  • Research and model perception noise.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • ​M.S. in Robotics or related field.
  • Experience with MPC, planning under uncertainty.
  • Experience running real-time algorithms on robotic systems or other physical hardware.

 

Bonus Qualifications

  • Ph.D candidate in Robotics or related field
  • Experience with MetaDrive, Waymo Open Motion Dataset, or Driving Data
