Honda Research Institute USA (HRI-US) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Robotics Software Engineering Intern to work on developing reliable software modules for autonomous driving and cooperative mobility research. Work with a team of scientists and engineers to implement software modules for simulators and physical systems.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Architect a robotic software component for Simulator and hardware platforms.
  • Implement low-latency and high-performance software prototype modules, integrate, deploy, and test them in both simulation and demo RC cars (F1tenth etc.).
  • Develop software infrastructure and tools, such as test scenarios, baseline algorithms, module interfaces, etc. to benchmark and evaluate motion planning and prediction algorithms.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • M.S. candidate in robotics, computer science, mechanical engineering, or related field.

 

Bonus Qualifications

  • Excellent programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with ROS2.
  • Hands-on experience with deploying software on limited computer hardware.
  • Comfortable with working on large code bases.
