HRI is exploring the field of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) / Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) with a goal of creating the freedom of mobility. For this, we are seeking people with vision that understand that this new domain is still in its early stages and that people with vision, a desire to succeed, and a will to explore new frontiers for aviation. As a R&D Fabrication Technician assistant you will support shoulder-to-shoulder with experienced aircraft technicians and multidisciplinary engineers while helping to assemble and maintain our first full-scale eVTOL prototype.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Basic familiarity with aircraft manufacturing processes or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Assist senior technicians in selecting tools and perform basic assembly and installation tasks under supervision.
  • Foundational knowledge of machining, welding, sheet-metal, soldering or electronics work is a plus.
  • Support planning of manufacturing processes; help create work instructions, part travelers and other technical documentation.
  • Participate in ground operations for flight tests, record work performed and ensure traceability of parts and processes
  • Collaborating with all related engineering teams on technical matters.
  • Support engineers in executing work orders, including hands-on fabrication, processing and testing.
  • Document completed work in maintenance logs that support certification efforts.
  • Installation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment for aircraft.
  • Fabrication of parts using soldering iron, lathe and milling machine, etc.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements and document updates.
  • Monitor and report part non-conformities or process deviations to senior technicians/engineers.
  • Ensure the shop premises are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Other duties as assigned to support rapid prototyping and flight-test readiness.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a technical trade or 1-2 years of related vocational coursework.
  • Basic aircraft maintenance (General Aviation or UAV)General knowledge of aircraft structureGeneral knowledge of aircraft electrical systemsGeneral knowledge of OSHA safety, machining and weldingStrong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, blueprints and schematics.
  • Familiarity with basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches)
  • Industrial fabrication, machining or welding

 

Bonus Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate
