Robotics Software Engineering Intern

​Design and develop reliable software modules for autonomous driving and cooperative mobility research. Work with a team of scientists and engineers to implement software modules for physical systems. Maintain and improve existing code libraries.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Architect a full system including software components for hardware platforms.
  • Implement low-latency and high-performance software prototype modules, integrate, deploy, and test them in both simulation and demo RC cars (F1tenth etc.).
  • Develop software infrastructure and tools, such as test scenarios, baseline algorithms, module interfaces, etc. to facilitate team's development efforts.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • M.S. candidate in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, or related field
  • Excellent programming skills in C++ and Python
  • Experience with ROS/ROS2
  • Hands on experience with deploying software on limited compute hardware
  • Hands on experience with mobile robots such as F1tenth, MIT Racecar etc. 

 

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with ROS2 (Robot Operating System)
  • Research experience in planning, machine learning, or robotics
