Human Factors and Behavioral Modeling
Job Number: P24INT-04
This project focuses on defining and establishing metrics to help assess mobility users in different scenarios. The project evaluates human factors and challenges of how different mobility interactions would impact people. The research could lead to designing methodologies to help assess cognitive states or design assessment. This could include quantitative and qualitative assessment tools.
San Jose, CA
Key Responsibilities
|
|
- Conceptualize and evaluate methods to assess mobility users' cognitive states and human factors challenges.
- Understand experimental designs and hypotheses testing for the key project objectives.
- Analyzing qualitative (survey/free response) and quantitative (performance/decision metrics) and validating findings.
- Contribute towards preliminary data analysis to conduct hypothesis testing/regression analysis.
- Work closely with project stakeholders and potentially validate the research contribution
Minimum Qualifications

- Highly qualified M.S./Ph.D. candidate in human factors-related field (human factors, cognitive science), ergonomics, industrial engineering, operations research, statistics, psychology, or social science.
- Familiarity with interaction/behavioral modeling for automobiles or micromobility.
- Knowledge of experimental design and multivariate statistical methodologies, e.g., causal inference with observable data, longitudinal analysis, classification, dimension reduction, clustering, and hierarchical linear (random effects) modeling.
- Familiarity with experimental protocols and developing workflow to ensure experimental work is conducted seamlessly.
Bonus Qualifications
|
|
- Strong publications in relevant conferences and journals in human factors and modeling.
