Research Intern: Spatial Reasoning in Long Videos - Honda Research Institute USA
Research Intern: Spatial Reasoning in Long Videos
Job Number: P25INT-70
Honda Research Institute USA (HRI-US) is seeking a Research Intern in Spatial Reasoning for Long Videos to explore new approaches for enabling AI systems to build, maintain, and reason about spatial representations of the physical world from long-duration video. Modern vision-language models can reason effectively about individual images and short video clips, but understanding environments over extended periods requires additional capabilities: maintaining persistent spatial knowledge, efficiently representing evolving 3D environments, associating observations across time, and retrieving the right information when performing downstream reasoning. The intern will investigate methods at the intersection of video understanding, 3D vision, spatial reasoning, multimodal foundation models, and long-term memory systems.
