User-Preference Based Robot Navigation

This project focuses on user-preference based robot navigation (decision-making, motion planning, and trajectory generation). The task will incorporate deciding on a robot's future course of action in accordance with a user's preference in specific scenarios. Specifically, a baseline navigation policy will either be learned offline or rigorously developed, followed by an adaptation of it based on user's preference (for instance, by online hyperparameter tuning). This project will entail utilizing concepts from the areas of probabilistic modeling, optimization, planning, machine learning, and robotics to develop algorithms that are real-world deployable.
