​Honda Research Institute USA (HRI-US) is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to design and develop scalable and reliable software modules for autonomous driving and cooperative mobility. Candidates will work with a team of scientists and engineers to implement state of the art algorithms on physical systems as well as maintaining and improving existing code libraries.
San Jose, CA

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to architect a full system including software components for hardware platforms.
  • Implement low-latency and high-performance software prototype modules, integrate, deploy, and test them in both simulation and real AD vehicles.
  • Develop software infrastructure and tools, such as test scenarios, baseline algorithms, module interfaces, etc. to facilitate team's development efforts.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S or M.S. candidate in computer science, or robotics.
  • Familiar with modern software engineering tools such as Git, CI/CD, Containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • 2+ programming experience in C++ and Python.
  • 2+ years of experience with Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS2).

 

Bonus Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in real-world robotics applications.
  • Experience with vehicle simulators such as Carla, Carmaker, etc.
  • Familiarity with vehicle sensors and hardware, including cameras, LiDAR, GPS, CAN, IMU, USB, Ethernet.
