Honda Research Institute, USA (HRI-US) is seeking a highly motivated scientist to develop AI-driven solutions that enhance group and societal interactions. This role focuses on modeling team dynamics, designing AI intervention strategies, and applying research to address real-world problems. You will work at the intersection of AI, behavioral science, and human collaboration, developing intelligent systems that improve teamwork, inclusivity, and communication across diverse groups. Key Responsibilities

 
  • Develop AI models to assess and predict group states such as inclusivity, openness, and collaboration.
  • Design and implement AI-driven interventions to enhance human-to-human collaboration, including solutions for cross-cultural communication and collective movement coordination.
  • Lead data collection and analysis efforts to model team interactions and ad hoc collaborations, ensuring research is grounded in real-world scenarios
  • Prototype and deploy AI-driven solutions, demonstrating their impact through practical applications and technology showcases.
  • Contribute to a portfolio of patents, academic publications, and prototypes to demonstrate research value.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction, Computational Social Science, or related filed.
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, or computational modeling, with a focus on human behavior analysis.
  • Experience developing AI models for social interaction, team dynamics, or group behavior prediction.
  • A proven track record of research excellence, as evidenced by publications in top-tier conferences or journals.
  • Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other relevant AI/ML frameworks.
  • Experience with data collection, experiment design, and statistical analysis for human-AI interaction studies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both research and general audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment.

 

Bonus Qualifications

 
  • Experience deploying AI models in real-world applications, such as workplace collaboration tools or social robotics.
  • Background in behavioral science, psychology, or organizational dynamics related to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Prior experience with large language models
