Design for Development (80%)
- Design and development of the Systems Integration Lab (SIL) instrumentation and electromechanical architecture for the proof-of-concept eVTOL aircraft systems. The instrumentation and electromechanical architecture development includes high voltage power systems with considerations for safety, EMI requirements, thermal management, transient analysis, load analysis, and coordinating modal analysis.
- Design and overall responsibility for System Integration Lab (SIL) instrumentation, to include data acquisition, data storage, and post processing/data analysis.
- Design of Systems Integration Lab (SIL) wire harnesses, test racks, and breakout boxes for electrical systems to include high voltage and low voltage power, and high-speed sensitive and safety critical systems.
- Create and maintain system level block diagrams, ICD's, hardware design documents, and test procedures.
- EMI/EMC considerations for Systems Integration Lab (SIL) instrumentation and electromechanical system design including grounding and bonding.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop, and execute test plans for aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct functional, performance, and integration tests on various components and subsystems, including avionics, power distribution, communication systems, and sensors.
- Troubleshoot and analyze test results, identifying potential issues and recommending design improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Assist in the development of test fixtures, equipment, and procedures to support efficient testing processes.
- Document and report test procedures, results, and findings in a clear and organized manner.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and systems integration experts, to achieve seamless system functionality.
Design for Certification (20%)
- In addition to all activities above, maintain good relationships and coordinate activities of the V&V team with other Honda teams, including other aircraft systems teams, Program Management team, Flight Test team, certification authorities, consultants, suppliers, etc.
- Coordinate and support discussions with regulatory agencies and certification authorities from the USA and other countries, related to V&V.
- Track and report status of the V&V team to ensure milestones are achieved as planned, while keeping team motivation and collaboration spirit.
