Understanding human states in group interaction is critical for future human-agent interactions. To detect user cognitive empathy towards other users and agents, we want to model the dynamics of group interactions and their real-time states. This position involves machine learning, artificial intelligence, and dynamic modeling of multimodal signals.
San Jose, CA

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Process, annotate, and label multimodal signals, including behavioral observations, eye gaze, peripheral physiological signals, audio and video signals.
  • Build dynamic, reinforcement, or deep learning models to have accurate performance on human cognitive state sensing.
  • Present and write results in academic manuscripts.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Strong M.S. students in CS, EE, ME, Applied mathematics, and related fields.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in artificial intelligence
  • Efficient programming skills.
  • Efficient understanding in human-machine interaction, or related fields.

 

Bonus Qualifications

  • PhD students in related fields
  • Proven publication record in affective computing, human-robot interaction, and cognitive science
  • Previous experiences with dynamic modeling
  • Previous experiences with human subject study and data
