Research Intern: Flexible Electronic Materials Integration

Honda Research Institute USA (HRI-US) is seeking a innovative intern with a materials science or electrical engineering background, with a focus in electronic materials, to develop flexible and stretchable electronic devices. An ideal candidate has knowledge of electronics from a materials level has previously developed sensors or other devices. Experience with product-level development is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in the fabrication of nanomaterial-based electronics.
  • Lead the characterizion and modeling of the mechanical and electrical properties of these devices.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Currently pursuing a PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with electronics testing, data acquisition systems, or electrical characterization (e.g., IV/CV measurements, reliability testing, etc.)
  • Experience with making touch sensors or other other sensing platforms.

 

Bonus Qualifications

  • ​2-5 years of work experience
  • Experience with multiphysics modeling or simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, or similar)
  • Knowledge of microfabrication, or PCB prototyping
  • Those with art and design portfolios encouraged to apply
